About late Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (May Allah have mercy upon him)

Sheikh Ahmad bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born on November 26, 1969 in the city of Al Ain. He attended the Scientific School in the city of Al Ain until he graduated from it in the year 1980. Not only did Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan obtain the bachelor’s degree from the UAE University, but he also enrolled in academic programs in economy and management, and accordingly was awarded the academic diploma from Harvard University in the United States of America in the major of Economic and Administrative Studies.

Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan joined the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in 1994. In 1996, he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works. In 1997, Sheikh Ahmad was appointed as a Managing Director in the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. He also served as the Under-secretary of Ministry of Finance and Industry, then a member of the Supreme Petroleum Council on April 19, 2005.

In addition to assuming economic and investment duties, Sheikh Ahmad did not forget about his social responsibilities, as he kept following up the works of “Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works” until it became one of the major charitable work arms of the United Arab Emirates through its unique humanitarian projects.

Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away on March 26, 2010. He was well known for engaging in charity work and volunteering for several humanitarian organizations and charities in the UAE and overseas. He was also known for his humanitarian initiatives and passion for sports, falconry and other traditional sports in particular.
